" Rustic "

A couple of rustic shots from the pre workshop drive to Highlands, NC. These were taken in a small meadow near Whiteside Mountain. The colors were not quite there yet this far down the mountain, but still pretty. Enjoy!!

" A New Beginning "

Early morning at Lake Jocassee overlook on my way to Highlands, NC for the fall workshop. I stayed with friends in South Carolina the night before and Mike told me to be sure and check the overlook on my way by. Thanks Mike. Hope you enjoy!!

" Last Images Of Vinson Mountain Home "

These are the last of this home, what a treat it was. Two trips out to it and a trove of images to show. Tomorrow on to FALL!!

" Above the Doors "

From the same home, these were above every door in the home. Some had only one, some had two or three. It seems strange that they would abandon the home with all the stuff in it, but to leave these was troubling. You would think that these would have been very important. Hope you enjoy!!

" The Back Room "

The back laundry room with exceptional light. It is funny how one old abandoned home can have so many photo ops and yet some others have almost none. Hope you enjoy!!

" The Kitchen "

What wonderful light, rainy and gloomy. This soft ethereal look was great for this shot. I could've stayed all day in here. Hope you enjoy!!

" The Light "

Same house, day one with sunlight. What a difference the light makes, this is a case of both types of light working in different rooms. The strong light works in this case because the hotspots heree work. Hope you enjoy!!

" Another Old Home "

Another old home found while riding around in the country. This one must have been used for a deer camp or something like it. It was abandoned with lots of stuff left behind. This was the second trip to this home. The first day was very sunny and this day was rainy and dreary, which led to better and softer light. Hope you enjoy!! More images to fiollow.

" The Scrambler "

An old time favorite ride. I remember riding with one of my first girlfriends and being sure she was on the outside, so I would be assured of sliding into her. Boy have times changed since the 60's and 70's. Hope you enjoyed the fair, I did.

" Motion "

The fair is all about motion, the least of which is walking constantly and the most intense is the rides. These images are just plain fun and very easy to produce, simply a tripod and a long shutter speed. If you have a chance to see the fair this year give these a try, you will have a great time.

Sorry for the delay in posts, I was on The Highlands Photo Workshop last week and we had a great time even with the rain. Photos to follow later this week.

" Fair People "

These are the real winners at the fair, the customers who love to visit year after year. They come good or bad times for the fun and atmosphere. Nothing like the county fair to make things seem better. Hope you enjoy!!

" Carnys "

This has always been one of my favorite subjects at the fair. I have always been fascinated by the lifestyle these people have, traveling all the time except for a few weeks off in the winter. Imagine the hours involved in setting up and then having to work 12-14 hours everyday for a couple weeks and then off to another location. What a life. Hope you enjoy!!

" Fair Colors "

" Opening Tonight "

Yummy, nothing like the food at the county fair. This year was a good turn out for the fair, I guess the fair is one thing that most folks will try to afford in any economy. Hope ypu enjoy!!
