" Another From North Carolina "

This image was shot on top of one of the balds near Lake Santeetlah at about 5,000 feet. We had to get this high in order to see any fall color. All the vegetation up here was scrbby and stunted from the wind and altitude. The entire top of the mountain was like this, but what a cool place to be on an October day. Hope you enjoy!!

" North Carolina Morning "

"Happy New Year" to everyone. This image takes me back to early fall when I made a trip to North Carolina in mid October. It was one of the better fall trips in spite of the 3AM departure time. We timed it just right as we arrived on Lake Santeetlah at sunrise, with the fog rising from a temp of about 34 degrees. Boy was it cold, but well worth it.

This image is an HDR made from 3 exposures I made about 45 minutes after sunrise. The sky was beautiful and the fog was rising off the water while I shivered. The reflection on the lake was spectacular and this became one of my favorite images from the trip. This was one of the best autumn seasons for color that I can ever remember. Hope you enjoy!!

"North Carolina Creekside"

Here is another image from my North Carolina trip. This creek was beside a campground on the way to Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest. You could just walk down and shoot, a great photo opportunity. This area is loaded with really great spots to shoot. My advice is to try and have more than 1 day to cover this area. Hope you enjoy!

Morning on Lake Santeetlah in North Carolina. This image was made on a short one day trip to N. C. in middle October. The fog was lifting off the lake and the sun was just coming up. It was about 35 chilly degrees, but was well worth it. What a beautiful morning and the color wasn't really close to peak. This area is gorgeous this time of year. Hope you enjoy.
