" Getting Ready for Paint "

Louvale, GA., church row. Melvin is getting ready to start painting his 3rd church here on church row. There are a total of 4 churches in this small almost abandoned town in middle Georgia just south of Columbus. We stopped here on our way back from Providence Canyon yesterday. I really had to work hard to get him to let me photograph him, he wasn't much on having his photo made. He was a great guy and has been working on all the churches in the town. What a job he had to do, he was scraping with a putty knife and hand scraper.

More images to follow along with some from our Providence Canyon trip. The weather was great and we had a great time. Hope you enjoy!!

" Despair "

This image was shot after a reception at the Cobb/Marietta Museum of Art. I met with some members of the Paulding Photography Club to shoot some night shots around the square in Marietta, GA. The image was taken by street light at a church off the square. The shot was set up to show someone in despair and worked quite well.

The image was shot at with my Canon 5D, Canon 24-70mm 2.8 at 38mm, 2 sec. at f9.5, ISO 400. The subject had to be very still, I shot about three exposures and this was the best. I used Lightroom for some exposure tweaks, no white balance changes were made. Hope you enjoy!!
